About Us
Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church
Grace is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Our church was founded in 1915. We strive to be a caring community of believers, dedicated to practicing the cycle of discipleship: inviting, inspiring, educating, equipping and empowering. We are committed to be a church family where we are Receiving the Lord, Revealing His Love!
Worship
Our worship services are held at 8 and 11 a.m. on Sundays; 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays during Advent and Lent, and 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays during the summer months. Our worship style is a combination of traditional and contemporary.
We also offer Wednesday evening meals at 6 p.m. during the school year. The evening also includes many opportunities to “follow Jesus’ lead” in believing, learning, serving, witnessing and inviting others to do the same.
Our Beliefs
We confess…
Scripture Readings
We encourage you to bring your Bible to worship services, so you may follow along with Scripture readings and increase your knowledge of the Holy Scripture. Bibles for your use are also available in the narthex.
Holy Communion
The Holy Sacrament of Communion is celebrated weekly at 8 a.m. Sunday worship and the first Sunday of each month at 11 a.m. worship. It also is celebrated at other major festivals. All who believe in Jesus Christ, are baptized and believe Christ’s words, “This is my body; this is my blood,” are welcome at the Communion table.
Children’s Sermon
Children are encouraged to come to the front of the sanctuary when called for the children’s sermon. Children sit on the floor in front of the altar.
Sunday School
Classes are available for all ages on Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Review our calendar in the worship bulletin for many other faith formation opportunities each week.
Fellowship Time
We offer a time for fellowship and coffee in our fellowship hall before Sunday School from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. We also offer fellowship immediately after Sunday School from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. Coffee and refreshments are served at that time.
Nursery
Our nursery is available during Sunday morning services and our Sunday School hour, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Children from infancy to age three may use the nursery during the 8 and 11 a.m. services. Children who are not old enough to attend Sunday School may stay in the nursery during that time.
Special Needs
Hearing aid devices and large print worship materials are available upon request. Our parking lot and building are wheelchair accessible.
